5 signs your tree may need removal
- !A new lean. A trunk that recently shifted, or lifted soil at the base, can mean root failure.
- !Widow-makers overhead. Large dead branches — crews call them “widow-makers” because they drop without warning and cause fatal accidents every year.
- !Mushrooms at the base. Fungal growth on the trunk or roots often signals internal decay.
- !Half the canopy is dead. Past 50% crown loss, recovery is unlikely and risk climbs each season.
